Mother and daughter duo Celeste and Sydney Corcoran where waiting at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon, cheering on Celeste's sister Carmen, who was running in the race. The pair were two of over 170 injured in the bombings. Celeste lost both legs, and Sydney, whose injuries were life threatening, is expected to recover fully. This video, captured by Celeste's cousin Alyssa Carter, shows a heartwarming hospital visit from two Marine's who suffered similar injuries. A moving picture of a wounded Sydney being comforted by a stranger was seen around the world, and became one of the most iconic images in the wake of the bombings.
During Saturday's first home game since the Boston Marathon bombings, Neil Diamond surprised fans at Boston's Fenway Park, taking the field to lead the crowd in a sing-along of his hit, "Sweet Caroline." At the end of the song, the crowd is hear chanting "USA." The sing-along has been an 8th inning Fenway Park tradition since 2002, but took on new meaning after Monday's bombings. On Tuesday, every Major League Baseball team with a game across the country took part in the Fenway tradition, playing the song in tribute to Beantown.
Two days after Monday's bombings in Boston, the images from that horrific day were still fresh in the minds of the entire country. So, before the Boston Bruins game, the first major sporting event since the bombings, fans showed their resilience by uniting in song during the National Anthem.

Hundreds of gay rights supporters broke into song at New Zealand's Parliament in Wellington. New Zealand became the 13th country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage. The final vote in favor of the measure was 77 to 44. The crowd is heard singing a love song called "Pokarekare Ana" sung in Maori after the official announcement is made.

Anyone who follows baseball knows that the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox have a rivalry that dates back as long as Major League Baseball itself. So, when the Yankees took a moment at the end of the third inning to bring the Fenway Park "Sweet Caroline" staple to the Bronx, it meant even more. The Yankees also displayed messages saying "United We Stand" and "Pray for Boston" on the exterior of the ballpark, showing their support for their friends to the North.
