It is the video that captured America's heart. Marine Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney, 31, came home from overseas to not only be reunited with his family, but also to discover that his 6-year-old son Michael could walk! Michael has cerebral palsy and was told he would never be able to walk. Cooney returned to his wife and five children in North Carolina in December, but the video was posted just last week.
Cooney tells RightThisMinute about the emotional homecoming and his wife describes how she managed to keep the secret that Michael was learning to walk on his own. Michael returns to school Wednesday and his father says he will probably get a lot of attention because of the sudden popularity of his homecoming video.
RightThisMinute featured Cooney's homecoming video. It is sure to bring tears to your eyes.
