It's something you would expect to see in a horror movie, but this plot became a reality in downtown Miami. Police say 31-year-old Rudy Eugene began chewing flesh off 65-year-old Ronald Poppo's face. Eugene is former high school football player with a prior criminal record, including an arrest for possession of marijuana in 2008. Police say as the men laid naked side by side, Eugene tore off the victim's cheeks, nose, and one of his eyes. A Miami police officer shot and killed Eugene after telling him to stop attacking the man. Police believe the cause behind the attack is related to drug use. The brother of a man who was swallowed up by a 20-foot-wide, 20-foot-deep sinkhole is devastated by what happened to his brother late Thursday night in Tampa, Florida, according to WFTV. The victim's brother, Jeremy Bush, says he heard a loud sound that sounded like a car crash at around 11 pm Thursday night. When he ran into his brother, 36-year-old Jeff Bush's room, all he could see was a mattress and a huge hole. "I heard my brother screaming... I jumped in the hole and was trying to dig him out and I couldn't find him. I thought I could hear him hollering for me to help him." There has been no contact with Jeff Bush since the sinkhole collapsed. Engineering equipment was put into the sinkhole, but did not see anything compatible with life.  View Now

A 19-year-old is behind bars after police say she stabbed 21-year-old Jorge Silas in the back- and someone nearby caught the entire incident on video. According to WTKR, who interviewed the victim, Silas says he had broken up with his ex-girlfriend and she arrived in a car with her friend, identified as 19-year-old Kelsey Taylor Deaton. He says Deaton got out of the car and started to argue with him. That’s when he says things became physical.“She then took a knife from her chest and she tried to slice me, she missed, and I saw her coming towards me. I ran away and the knife was just in my back, like a ninja. It was really hard and I was bleeding. I was in shock,” says Silas. “I was just thinking about that knife. I didn’t have no feeling, I was just whatever I hit, I didn’t feel it." Deaton has been charged with malicious assault.  View Now

Gayle On Film: 'Split'

Gayle On Film: 'Split'

Split - ★★★ The irony here in the title is prescient in that it sums up how this review will go for the latest from director M. Night Shyamalan. On the one hand, Scottish actor James McAvoy’s tremendous talents are on display as he outstandingly plays a man with multiple personality disorder. Each of his personality portrayals are distinct and easily distinguishable from each other. They know each other and converse with each other but are split into two groups seeking to control his actions. Conversely, the bad personalities are plotted to do the typical movie thing: kidnap some pretty women in tight sweaters and short skirts and have them suffer uncomfortably. It’s an old trope, but it’s semi-effective thanks to McAvoy’s presence. And yes, there is a twist for true Shyamalan fans - as that’s often his trademark. But you’ll just have to see it to find out what it is.   View Now
