While it may seem like a normal thing to have a baby shower, it's often a luxury for many soon-to-be moms. To provide some relief to expectant mothers and give them a chance to celebrate, the St. Bernard Hospital in Chicago decided to throw a massive baby shower. More than 100 deserving women from a high-poverty neighborhood showed up, and all received gifts to take home.
Evelyn Jones is the vice president of Nursing Services at the hospital and devised the idea last year, according to ABC News. She spent about $1000 of her own money this year, but it's definitely worth it to provide attendees with the only chance they may have to have a baby shower.
