In Kazakhstan, an avalanche caused lots of trouble for those in the area. Rescuers helped many people who were trapped in the snow, and even saved a poor kitty from a car that had been buried by the avalanche. 

Over in Peru, miners ran for safety as an avalanche came crashing down nearby. The snow blocked off the entrance to the mine and temporarily left several workers trapped inside, but they were able to escape from different exits.
