Fortville, Indiana police officer Matthew Fox is recovering in the hospital after a routine traffic stop turned into a violent high speed chase. The driver, 27-year-old James Lockhart, was pulled over for a busted tail light when Fox asked him to put his hands out the window. Reports say that's when Lockhart floored the gas pedal and the high speed chase began. In the middle of the chase, Lockhart stopped his car and got our to fire about 12 shots in 16 seconds, directly at Fox. You can hear Fox cry for help in this video. Police say they later caught up with Lockhart and were forced to shoot him when he opened fire on them. Lockhart later died.
