They weren't too far from the airport but just couldn't make it! A 61-year-old pilot and his 55-year-old passenger had taken off in a single engine plane from Clearwater Airpark headed to Zephyrhills Municipal Airport in Florida to fuel up. However, they soon realized they wouldn't be able to make it back to Clearwater Airport and looked for a safe place to land. Unfortunately, the plane ended up clipping a tree, and the whole scene was captured on dash cam from two nearby Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Patrol Operations Bureau vehicles. Luckily, no one was hurt!
