In the face of danger to themselves or others, police officers often need to think on their feet and make split-second decisions. Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Deputy Will Wheeler was driving to work when a woman flagged him down. Victoria Terrill's 3-year-old son Chaz had put a quarter in his mouth and was in need of immediate assistance, according to The Shawnee-News Star. Wheeler quickly went into a life-saving mode, patting Chaz on the back and dislodging the quarter. It truly was fate that he was on hand to help! Wheeler says he never usually drives with his window down or take that route to work when it's so hot out.
