Modern science and medicine are remarkable because the possibilities feel endless. Myah Hauxwell, a 3-year-old from Mansfield, Nottingham, was born with Microphthalmia (small eye syndrome) leaving her blind in one eye. Although she was fitted with a prosthetic, her face began to collapse. So, doctors decided the best approach would be to take fat from her stomach and create a new eye socket. After a four hour surgery, Myah is recovering and will hopefully start to notice the benefits of the new eye soon.
If you'd like to help Myah with the additional cost of her surgery that is not covered, check out her GoFundMe!
