You're more likely to be struck by lightning than eaten by a shark. That doesn't mean that sharks don't kind of like messing with people though. This husband and wife found that out first hand when they took their boat off the coast of Key Largo, Florida. A 12-foot Great White shark swam by their boat, nibbled on the motor, then left them alone.

While you might not be eaten by a shark, you don't really want to hang with them. Now dolphins, on the other hand, we'd hang out with those all day! These divers in the Revillagigedo Islands met a pod of dolphins who were swimming by, as well as a giant manta ray.

The Beautiful Creatures Of The Ocean

Hermit crabs are the hermits of the ocean, that's why their parents gave them that name. Rarely do we get a good up-close shot of the hermit crab but it's fascinating to see. You don't expect the crab to be so hairy or look so alien-like. Then, jellyfish are creatures that have one of the most adorable names and yet are very dangerous. They are also insanely beautiful. The Nautilus, like it's famous namesake, was exploring down in Baja, Mexico when they came across this amazing lifeform. View Now

Guy Catches Bizarre Pulsing Rainbow Ocean Creature

Take a deep breath, internet friends--this disgustingly beautiful creature really does exist! In fact, you've probably been near one of these during a California beach trip because that's exactly where a Port Hueneme fisherman hauled this beauty-and-beast combined up with the rest of his catch. Our best guess at RightThisMinute is that this bizarre creature is some kind of barnacle (a relative of crabs and lobsters) with phenomenally bizarre growths. Sometimes The Ocean Is One Big Show Off

We think a whale encounter is on everyone's bucket list and Nick Worthington now gets to draw a checkmark inside his box. Somewhere in the waters between California and Catalina Island, a pod of dolphins leaps through the air but friends, this isn't the main performance. A large whale waits for its big debut before finally coming up for air... RIGHT. NEXT. TO. THE. BOAT. Even if you're familiar with the ocean, it can straight up outsmart you. Experienced kayaker, William Swann was out fishing for bonito fish off Padre Island, Texas when someone else got to his catch before he could. While reeling in his line, a shark decided to take a snack for the road but was considerate enough to leave William half of the fish. Gee, thanks. View Now

'Ow! Why'd I Do That?!'

If you found a jellyfish washed up on the beach, you'd leave it alone because you're a normal person. If you're Jacob Strickling in Australia, you grab that jellyfish, drop it on your foot and wait to see how much it hurts when it stings you.
