A woman was held hostage at knifepoint in her family's furniture store in Shenyang, China. As the suspect was making demands of the hostage, a bystander took action by tackling the suspect. The woman was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and police arrested the suspect. The bystander turned hero may have likely saved a life.
Moving on to a school in Winston Churchill School in Woking, England. When Rainer Schoeman arrived to pick up a child, teacher Gareth McCarthy tried to redirect him to the correct entrance. Schoeman grew frustrated and drove forward, picking up McCarthy on the hood of his car. Schoeman has been sentenced to 10 months in jail and must pay McCarthy compensation for his injuries.
