Video from a Christmas party last year recently surfaced showing bar manager Molly Phillips being choked out by chef Nathan Webb until she passed out and hit her head on the floor. Molly suffered partial paralysis that never went away, and her many complaints to management about feeling unsafe at work following the incident were brushed off. Eventually, she felt she was forced to quit her job. It wasn't until the video surfaced that the bar management was able to take more serious action. And although Molly won her tribunal, Nathan remains employed with the company.
Next, festival-goers in South Africa were out celebrating in the streets when some looters decided to break into Rook Cycles bicycle shop, cause about $12,000 worth of damage, and steal thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. Although the employees say they've seen the worst of the community, they also saw people come together to help out businesses that were affected by looters. Thankfully, seven arrests were made in connection with the incident.
