Our hearts stopped just from watching this! Tom Scott is visiting with the Royal Airforce to try out the training centrifuge, a rotating pod that allows you to experience the speeds pilots normally endure in the air. He explains the difficulties when spinning at such fast speeds and the techniques used to prevent passing out. Tom passed out briefly at 3.6 g while first-time pilots are expected to withstand 5 g. G-force is the acceleration that is being exerted at you from the opposite direction when traveling at high speeds.

Man's Facebook Friends Help Save His Life

Now, this is technology used in the right way! Thanks to the power of the internet and social media, Michael Lythcott is alive after a devastating scooter accident in Bali. Lythcott and a friend were riding back to their hotel on the first night of their trip when he swerved to avoid an incoming truck and rode into a ravine, according to WSB-TV. When he woke up some time later, Lythcott discovered he had a broken wrist but was able to pull his phone out of his pocket and post a note for help on Facebook. His Facebook friends immediately came to his assistance, commenting on his post, while others tried calling him through the Whatsapp app. A friend was able to put him in touch with the U.S. Embassy, but his phone died during the call. Luckily, rescuers found the pair's location using the GPS location coming from Facebook and Whatsapp. Both Lythcott and his friend are now recovering at the hospital. If you would like to help contribute to Lythcott's road to recovery, check out the GoFundme page his sister made. View Now
