Our favorite little buddy Butternut loves when Thanksgiving rolls around! It's quite a feast with hamster-friendly turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy and pumpkin pie. Butternut also takes the time to name the many things it is thankful for like mommy and daddy, sister Annie and of course its lovely tiny house. Read how to make it below! 2 peas 2 pieces of a chopped carrot 2 teaspoons of unsalted, unbuttered mashed potatoes a handful of shredded cheddar cheese 1. Pre-heat oven at 350°F 2. Mix the peas and carrots into the mashed potatoes 3. Form potato and vegetable mixture into small spoonfuls 4. Bake spoonfuls at 350°F until the potatoes aren't mushy (about 20 minutes but some ovens will vary) 5. Remove from the oven and place a few shreds of cheddar cheese onto the spoonfuls 6. Place back in the oven until the cheese just begins to melt 7. Remove from the oven and let cool 8. Enjoy! View Now

Our favorite hamster Butternut is back and is already getting in the Halloween spirit! He's chowing down on some hamster-friendly pumpkin pie, and it looks absolutely delicious. We love the decked out house too! Next you'll just need a Halloween costume. Butternut's Easy DIY Hamster Pumpkin Pie Recipe   Ingredients:  (you can make a couple small or one large) 1 tablespoon of pumpkin puree a handful of pumpkin seeds 1/2 carrot (to sweeten the pumpkin without using sugar) 1/2 banana 1 tablespoon of non-fat, plain Greek yogurt a handful of oats   Directions:   1. Pre-heat oven at 400 degrees 2. Thinly grate the carrot and mush the banana 3. Mix the pumpkin puree, banana and carrot together with a little bit of yogurt 4. Chop up the pumpkin seeds (if you can't find unsalted, wash and dry the seeds before using) and mix with the yogurt and oats 6. Form the oat, yogurt and pumpkin seed mix into a crust shape (you can use foil to make a pie tin and place the mix into the tin) 7. Spoon the pumpkin puree mix on top and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until not mushy (oven times will vary) 8. Remove from heat, let cool and remove from tin before serving 9. Decorate with pumpkin seeds and yogurt (as whipped cream) 10. Enjoy!      View Now

Butternut Shows Off Recipe For Hamster-Friendly Spaghetti

Butternut the hamster is back, and this time adorably eating pasta AND sharing a recipe for DIY Hamster Spaghetti. Watch the cutie make all gone and see the recipe below for any hamster pets you might know! Ingredients (you don't have to use the same amounts Butternut did, it's up to you and your hamster) 1/2 spaghetti squash handful of fresh spinach pinch of grated parmesan cheese a few hamster friendly nuts Directions 1. Pre-heat oven at 375 degrees 2. Remove all of the seeds with a fork  3. Bake 1/2 of a spaghetti squash in the oven for 40-50 minutes (some ovens will vary) at 375 degrees 4. Remove from the oven and use a fork to scrape the inside away from the skin, creating long strands 5. Use a fork or spoon to twirl and mold hamster size portions into swirls 6. Chop fresh spinach into small pieces and sprinkle on spaghetti squash 7. Sprinkle a little parmesan cheese on spaghetti squash  8. Add one hamster friendly nut per spaghetti squash swirl, instead of a meatball 9. Make sure spaghetti squash is at room temperature before serving View Now

In the morning, this cute little guy likes to chow down on some mouth-watering coconut blueberry pancakes or even all you can eat pancakes, IHOP style! Do you want your hamster to be as happy as Butternut? Follow the recipe below! Ingredients 1 teaspoon of coconut flour (pure coconut) 1 tablespoon of non-fat, plain Greek yogurt 1 teaspoon of water a handful of freeze-dried no sugar added blueberries   Directions 1. Mix flour and water first, then add yogurt until batter-like consistency (you might have to add more water or less yogurt depending on the consistency of your flour) 2. Spread a little coconut or olive oil into a pan and heat on medium-high 3. Place pancake size spoonfuls of batter into pan and sprinkle crushed freeze-dried blueberries on top of each 4. Once pancake starts to turn golden brown, flip over and let heat fully through 5. Let cool and add dollop of yogurt to top like whipped cream 6. Enjoy! View Now
