On Oct. 22, the capital of Canada, Ottawa, became a victim of a lone-wolf terrorist attack. Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, a War Memorial guard, was killed in the attack. The suspect then stormed the parliament building, looking for more victims. Sergeant-at-arms Kevin Vickers shot and killed the suspect. In today's parliamentary meeting, Vickers received a standing ovation and is being declared a Canadian hero.

As President Obama was casting his vote early in Chicago yesterday, a man named Mike Jones told the Commander in Chief, "Don't touch my girlfriend." The girlfriend, Aia Cooper, was voting in the booth next to Obama and was visibly embarrassed. This led to a funny exchange among Obama, Jones and Cooper. In the end the president got the last laugh — and a kiss on the cheek.
