Dolly the seal has had a rough go of it recently. The RSPCA found the poor seal on the beach, seriously underweight and battling an eye infection. So they took her in and managed to nurse her back to health. After three months, Dolly was healthy enough to be released back into the ocean!

Then, whale watchers in Maui, Hawaii were treated to a show that wasn't on the schedule. A humpback whale started waving and splashing the tourists over and over again to everyone's delight. We like to think the whale was having just as much fun as the people.

The folks at Whale Watch Western Australia were left astonished after witnessing what looked like a rescue effort by a pod of orcas. A young humpback whale had a net on its tail. Orcas, the ocean's apex predators, suddenly approached the struggling animal. They swam beneath the humpback whale and freed him. They're also not very good at swimming long distances. Since their natural seagrass environment is disappearing, they often live near underwater human construction sites. When those sites have work done, the seahorses get separated from their homes. Fortunately, The Abyss Project rescues these seahorses, returns them to their families, and finds them new habitats.
