Spain's Storm Filomena Buries Animals In Snow 01:53
Storm Filomena recently blanketed Spain in historic levels of snowfall, but the storm's affecting more than just people and cities. A group of volunteers and off-duty firefighters in the city of Burgos came together to rescue a group of horses trapped in the snow. Over the course of eight hours, they dug a trench more than three meters deep and used it to guide each horse to safety.
Over in León, a herd of sheep was also buried in the snow, and it took some serious force to pull them out. Thank goodness humans came to the rescue, or else who knows what could have happened to these poor animals?
