Keli Thorn has been battling polycystic kidney disease for the last 10 years, but when the disease eventually reached stage four, she was officially in need of a kidney transplant. Keli's husband and four children stopped at nothing to help her get a kidney, and even launched an online campaign called Kidney For Keli. About a year later, their hard work paid off when 27-year-old Cheyenne Frappier of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, saw Keli's story and decided she wanted to help.
Not only did Cheyenne agree to be Keli's doner, but she also came to Ohio to surprise her and meet the Thorn family in person. Cheyenne and Keli have formed a special bond throughout the transplant process, and now consider each other family. We are so moved by Cheyenne's incredible act of selfless kindness, and couldn't be happier to see Keli and her family's dream come true.
After their surgeries on February 2nd, 2021, we're happy to report that both Keli and Cheyenne are recovering well.
