Last night an unmanned NASA rocket exploded as it launched from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The official NASA video shows the explosion from a close-up angle. An Antares 130 rocket launched at 6:22 p.m. EST today from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, but the unmanned spacecraft experienced engine failure and there was a large explosion. The rocket was carrying the Cygnus CRS-3 spacecraft due to go into orbit carrying nearly 5,000 pounds of cargo for the six crew members of Expedition 41 currently onboard the International Space Station. This failed launch was the second attempt to launch, as there was a 24-hour delay due to a boat failing to get out of the safety zone in time. View Now
