Cats are notorious for getting themselves up a tree, and then getting stuck. This cat, later named Frangelica, was found 12 feet up a tree, in freezing cold temperatures. Luckily for her and her future owner, the Humane Society's Tree House rescue team got her down from the tree and into some warmer, and friendlier, conditions. View Now
This is quite the unusual animal rescue. The Humane Society of the United States relocated gopher tortoises in Jacksonville, Florida from their original homes to avoid certain doom. A bank in Brazil was held up by a three-man band of robbers. After taking several customers hostage and demanding money, the group picked an undercover cop as their next victim. Unfortunately for one of the suspects, the cop was armed and he shot that man in the head, which killed him. A fire fight broke out and another robber was shot several times.
