A beaver in San Jose was found with a discarded strap wrapped around its waist. It took nine days for Wildlife Emergency Services to finally capture the furry creature so that they could cut off the strap and prevent more severe injury. While fighting a Fresno, California house fire, firefighter Cory Kalanick happened upon a kitten laying on the floor barely clinging to life. Kalanick immediately began life-saving treatment as he rushed the small animal out of the house. Once outside, Kalanick used an oxygen mask and wet wash clothes as he slowly massaged life back into the kitten- who he appropriately nicknamed Lucky.
