While out on a boat two miles off the coast of Newport Beach, California, a group of travelers had a moment they are calling "an experience of 1000 lifetimes" when a playful young seal decided to board their boat. ABC6 news reporter Abbey Niezgoda and cameraman Marc Jackson were seeking a statement from Melissa Lawrence, the mother of a teenage girl who was shot at a graduation party over the weekend, when things turned violent. After Niezgoda informed Lawrence that a young man had turned himself in, Lawrence said, "OK, that's good," but then proceeded to throw a rock at ABC6's cameraman. The crew then started to leave, but Lawrence came out wielding a baseball bat. She then told her two dogs to attack.
