Helen Gurley Brown, former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine and the author of "Sex and the Single Girl," has died at age 90. Gurley Brown died Monday morning at New York hospital after a brief hospitalization, the publisher said. The magazine was editor-in-chief for more than 3 decades. Gurley Brown left the magazine in 1997 to become editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan's 64 international editions. The magazine is published in 35 languages and in more than 100 countries.

Police have reported that the shooting suspect, Constable Brian Bachmann, and one male civilian were killed in a shooting near Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. The shooting happened around noon Monday at the intersection of Fidelity and Highlands Street, just two blocks southeast of the Texas A&M University campus.
