Where Darrick Thomson is, KhamLha his elephant big sister can't be far behind!
This odd but heartwarming friendship, first shared by ElephantNews, started when Darrick began volunteering at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand and met the infant elephant. From that time forward, the two were INSEPARABLE! KhamLha's now a teenager (in elephant years), but she still coddles and leads Darrick around like momma elephants usually parent their youngsters.

When a female elephant collapsed in Thailand, it wasn't long before rescuers arrived on the scene. But, her distressed calf wouldn't let the humans near her, charging at them any time they got close.
