The Northern Lights appeared in the Deep South Monday night, something experts say is a very unusual occurence. Scientists say the Northern Tier of the United States is usually the farthest south these solar flares appear. They say the spectacular light show was caused by a solar outburst, which originated with a storm on the surface of the sun.
