It’s a trope often used in Hollywood Films. Man focuses on career and loses touch with his family. Then an angel, dog or name your magical entity comes in to mess up their “ordered” life and remind them of who they are. Though this type of story is predictable, it is capably handled by director Marc Forster and Ewan MacGregor as the titular character. A. A. Milne’s Christopher Robin is all grown up with a wife, a child and a career. He doesn’t think about the Hundred Acre Wood or Winnie the Pooh. He’s too busy trying to cut costs in the corporate world. Kudos to the screenwriter for a script that’s heavy on humor that works for adults and kids and the studio for casting Brad Garrett to do the voice of Eeyore. He, along with all the other live actors and those providing voice talent, make for a delightful time at the theater.
