Thor: Ragnarok: A-
The people who can hurt you most are the ones who share your DNA. Time after time, Thor has learned this from his brother Loki in Marvel's "The Avengers" film series. However, in "Thor: Ragnarok" it's daddy (Anthony Hopkins) who's been keeping a few secrets to land on the right side of history. This results in Thor losing his hammer thanks to Hela, the Goddess of Death, gleefully played by Cate Blanchett. From the first moment she prances into view, you'll forget she was Galadriel from "Lord of the Rings." Don't underestimate her because Hela has the power to stop Thor's hammer and with an equal force of sarcasm.
Besides the hammer, Thor is also robbed of his freedom. He's unfortunately enslaved on a trash planet where a Willy Wonka-esque (Jeff Goldblum) tyrant throws him into a gladiator ring — which is where he finds Hulk hasn't been himself, Dr. Bruce Banner, in some time. Add in female superhero, Valkyrie along with the familiar characters who populate Thor's films and you've got one gleefully fun Marvel movie.
They even dare to cut his golden locks! (GASP!) But unlike the biblical-Sampson, Thor's still got all the power to thrill with great action, lots of humor and a plot that works. View Now
