This is a nightmare traffic jam! Gusting winds caused a 400-meter long container ship to knock off course and become lodged sideways in the Suez Canal in Egypt. Now, a growing number of other ships are backed up and waiting to continue their own deliveries.
Crews are working diligently to free the ship called the Ever Given, including folks at the Suez Canal Authority. 12% of all global trade passes through The Suez Canal — 50 ships pass in and out of the critical waterway on a daily basis!
This is the biggest ship to ever get grounded and stuck in the canal. In fact, the Ever Given is bigger than many other iconic landmarks, according to Michael Li on Twitter.

It'll be a tough job; it could take days to weeks before the ship is dislodged, but crews are working hard to get shipments back on track.
