After returning home to South Carolina during the COVID-19 pandemic, University of Southern California film student Whitney Anderson's conversation with her grandmother Ola Mae sparked the creation of a powerful documentary called "Higher Ground." Hearing the struggles her 80-year-old grandmother faced inspired Whitney to highlight stories of Black Americans of all generations living in South Carolina.
"Higher Ground" poses the question: Just how much progress has been made in the fight for social justice and equality, and how much left is there to go? To tell us more about the thought-provoking project, Whitney Anderson and Ola Mae Jacobs join the RTM hosts via Zoom.
