In theory, going out in public and being among your constituents is a good idea for governors and other politicians. Something as simple as going to get coffee and conversing with patrons and employees shows you care.
We say "in theory" because sometimes things don't go as planned. Just ask Florida Governor Rick Scott. If that was the plan, things backfired for him. Governor Scott received an earful from a woman sitting inside the Starbucks he visited in Gainesville, Florida, and she definitely didn't pull any punches.
We're pretty sure that's the last time he'll be hitting up a Starbucks himself — and the kicker, he never actually ordered his coffee!
