The captains and crew featured in the Discovery+ show "Deadliest Catch" have been through tough times before, but Season 17 might be the toughest yet. That's because this past year, they not only had to deal with difficult fishing conditions, but with COVID-19 as well. With so many people testing positive for COVID-19, their very livelihoods were on the line.

That means the fishermen had to reach out to anyone they could to help get the job done and keep their businesses afloat, even if that meant working with guys they don't like. This was undoubtedly a tough season, but we wanted the lowdown from Captain Sig Hansen, who spoke to our RTM hosts about what Season 17 has in store for viewers.

Deadliest Catch premieres Tuesday, April 20 at 8 p.m. on Discovery and is streaming now on Discovery+.
