An elderly man in India was walking with his dog when danger literally struck. A 200-pound hyena leaped from the bushes and started attacking the man. Fortunately, another man with a pole was nearby and helped fight the animal off, and it was later found over 28 miles away. It's believed that the hyena was acting out due to an injury. The elderly man and another cyclist who was attacked suffered injuries but will be okay.
Moving onto Kruger National Park, we have a much more adorable encounter. Hyena cubs in the area are known to approach cars and investigate their tires. It's not quite known why. Maybe they like how the cars taste? At least it's better than when the big ones go after people.
