We recently featured blind content creator Joy Ross' shocking near-death experience while crossing the street here on RTM. Luckily, her sweet guide dog Arabella was there to save her, but the incident fueled Joy to advocate for change. Joy has already been successful in campaigning for audible signals for the blind, so her next mission was to try getting tactile paving installed at the busy intersection where she had her close call. Thanks to Joy, the city added truncated domes to the intersection, which tremendously help those who are visually impaired use the crosswalk safely. What an awesome achievement!
