If you're not familiar with "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" or even if you are, this could easily be you! In the 1989 film, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) gets into some trouble with his holiday lights and hangs from the roof in a classic scene. This year, the Heerlein family decided to recreate it in their front yard, complete with a dummy dressed like the character. Unfortunately, veteran Alfred Norwood, Jr. was passing by and thought it was a real person, immediately calling 911, ABC News reports.
Police later figured out nothing was amiss, and Norwood was the only passerby nice enough to stop to try to help! The family has since added a sign to their display asking people to not call 911 and that "Clark G." is part of their Christmas display! They've also given Norwood a gift card for his troubles.
