THROWBACK THURSDAY: It's Christmas time, so let's take some a moment to look back at one of the most historical toys ever created: The Mr. Potato Head. Did you know in the late 1940s George Lerner created pushpin pieces (shoes, eyes, ears, noses, mouths, etc.) that were to be pushed into fruits and veggies? The company that is now Hasbro bought the rights to the toy set in 1952 and featured it on the first-ever TV commercial. Hasbro began selling a plastic potato body with the set in 1964 due to rotting food and new government safety regulations. Playing with your food has never been more fun.
