This giant contraption in Switzerland is the ATLAS detector (A Toroidal LHC Apparatus). With 1,800 miles of cable inside, this bad boy weighs around 7,000 tons. Its purpose is to accelerate particles in order to analyze biproducts. This machine means a lot to the world of engineering and science, and though we would never know how to use it, we’re looking forward to seeing what can be found out by the professionals operating it!
