Unfortunately, animals don't have control over what happens to them in life, and this poor pony has seen the worst of it. Tobias was almost shipped off to a slaughterhouse, but luckily a kind family stepped in just in time. The Hance family had recently moved to a small farm in order to take care of animals they rescued, according to The Dodo. Hearing about a horse auction, Kirk and Nastasha Hance hurried over and purchased Tobias and also a mare.

At first Tobias was very scared, and based on the scars on his body and sadness in his eyes, the family believed he had already had a hard life. However, soon Tobias really opened up and rested his head on Kirk's shoulder, closing his eyes. So sweet!
