Although doctors predicted he wouldn't live past several weeks, little Thomas is now 16 months old! Living with "Brittle Bone Disease" is a monumental challenge, because even simple movements can cause excruciating bone fractures. His genetic mutation has caused his bones to be so fragile that he has not been able to rollover, walk, or crawl yet. The rare genetic mutation has also caused Baby Thomas to have dwarfism, and he breaks a bone on average about once or twice a month. Thomas is also on a trach and ventilator to help him breathe but is expected to be able to breathe on his own as he gets older. However, the Broadbent Family has found a special gift for brave Thomas that could change everything. Thanks to his new power scooter, Tommy can get around the house. He weighs only 12 lbs, but experienced his first time of independence in his new power chair. Daddy had no idea that he had received the wheelchair. Woman Facing Years Of Medical Challenges Surprised With Horse — Joins RTM

Woman Facing Years Of Medical Challenges Surprised With Horse — Joins RTM

Animals can bring us so much joy and happiness and even be the best form of medicine. Brittney Thomason had an extremely negative reaction to a flu shot when she was 15 years old that left her in a coma for eight days. Since then, Brittney's had more than 60 surgeries and has been battling health issues for 10 years. She loves horses though, and for a birthday present one year, she went on a horseback ride which actually helped to "wake up" her digestive track. When her family decided to get her a therapy horse however, they ran into multiple problems including a horse that was not properly broken in, one with arthritis and another that was pregnant. Brittney had pretty much resigned herself to never getting that special horse she'd always dreamed about when she got the surprise of a lifetime. Sunny, an old racing horse, needed a new home, and Brittney's mom Stacy told the pair selling the horse, Samantha and Jeri Sherry, all about of Brittney's struggles. A man named Mike McCoulgh offered to drive the horse to a closer location for Brittney's parents Stacy and Robert to pick it up and then came the magical moment Brittney met Sunny for the first time. She joins RTM now by Skype to share her amazing story. View Now
