It's the spookiest time of the year and if you want to properly get into the spirit, you should decorate accordingly. Our own Halloween Queen, Jessica Hord will show you how to create haunting dioramas from craft store pumpkins. No expensive crafts or witch's spells required!

You'll Need:

— Craft pumpkin
— Craft knife, carving knife, pumpkin carving kit or Versa-Tool (Jessica used a craft knife)
— Paint
— Foam disk
— Air-dry clay
— Moss sheets
— Scissors
— Hot glue
— Halloween figurines
— LED tea lights (optional)
Instructions:
1. Using your carving tool of choice, cut a large hole into the pumpkin.
2. Paint the inside of the pumpkin; this will serve as the backdrop for your scene.
3. Put a foam disk inside the pumpkin; if needed cut it to fit.
4. Create a base for your scene's ground using air-dry clay. Let it dry.
5. Using scissors, cut your moss to fit over your clay.
6. Secure moss to clay with hot glue.
7. Assemble scene using figurines. If needed, hot glue figurines in place.
8. Add LED lights, if you're using them. You're done!

INGREDIENTS 1½ cups gingersnap cookie crumbs ¼ cup canned pumpkin purée ⅓ cup graham cracker crumbs 3 tablespoons powdered sugar ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon ⅛ teaspoon salt 3 ounces cream cheese, softened ½ cup white chocolate chips extra white chocolate chips or white dipping chocolate (like CandiQuik) for outside layer red food coloring or red gel icing INSTRUCTIONS In a large bowl combine gingersnap crumbs, pumpkin puree, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cream cheese. Mix until smooth. Melt ½ cup white chocolate chips and mix into truffle mixture. Cover and chill until dough is solid enough to roll into balls - about 1 hour in the fridge or 30 minutes in the freezer. When cold enough, roll mixture into 12-14 balls. Place a toothpick in each ball. Chill balls for another 5 minutes. Melt remaining white chocolate chips or white dipping chocolate in a small bowl. Use toothpicks to dip each truffle ball into the white chocolate, being sure to coat all sides. Gently shake off excess chocolate. Place chocolate-covered truffle balls on a baking sheet or plate lined with wax paper, parchment paper, or foil. Chill for 3-5 minutes until chocolate hardens. Drizzle more white chocolate over the truffles. Soak the end of a Q-tip in red food coloring. Dap 2 dots of food coloring. Dap 2 dots of food coloring or 2 dots of gel icing to make the mummy eyes. Handle carefully so you don't wipe off the eyes. Store chilled in airtight container. View Now

Nothing Spooky About 'Spooky Pie'

It's the spookiest time of the year and that means you'll need some spooky desserts to make sure your party guests don't become angry ghouls. That's why we always turn to our practitioner of the delicious arts, Jessica Hord. Once you make "Spooky Pie," you'll want to have some year round. You'll Need: — 1 (14.3 oz.) regular Oreo cookies, divided — 8 tbsp. melted butter — 8 oz. softened cream cheese — 1 (15 oz.) can pumpkin puree — 2 (3.4 oz) boxes instant vanilla pudding — 2 cups whole milk — 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice — 1 (8oz.) thawed tub whipped topping Instructions: 1. Crunch nine cookies and set aside. Crunch the remainder of the package and mix with melted butter in a 13x9 inch pan. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan. 2. In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add vanilla pudding, milk, and pumpkin pie spice and mix until blended. 3. Spread mixture over cookie crust, top with a layer of whipped topping and sprinkle the Oreos you set aside on top. Cover and chill for at least four hours and you're done!
