British Army veteran Sean Laidlaw was in Syria when he found one small puppy buried under some rubble from a destroyed building. He named her Barrie and checked on her every day, bringing her food and water until she finally trusted him. Soon, Barrie was his little companion. She stayed with him and provided a much-needed distraction from the war. After they were separated, Sean was heartbroken and knew he had to get her back. The two of them traveled through five countries, two war zones, 3,000 miles and a 12-hour car ride to finally be together again.
