Stingray Stuck Upside Down & Saving Octopus From Illegal Trap 2:00
A scuba diving instructor in the Maldives came across someone struggling and it wasn’t one of her students. Mette Ellis Gaardsted Nussbaumer found a stingray that had gotten stuck upside down on the ocean floor. So she helped out by flipping the creature over. The stingray even waved “thank you” and it swam off! At least, we think it did. Or maybe their fins always do that?
Next, the Sinis Peninsula near the Mal di ventre Island is protected. That means it’s illegal to post fishing traps in certain areas. When the coast guard came across one such illegal trap, they found a poor octopus inside. They opened up the trap and freed the cephalopod, who was probably grateful to their new human friends.
