A scuba diving instructor in the Maldives came across someone struggling and it wasn’t one of her students. Mette Ellis Gaardsted Nussbaumer found a stingray that had gotten stuck upside down on the ocean floor. So she helped out by flipping the creature over. The stingray even waved “thank you” and it swam off! At least, we think it did. Or maybe their fins always do that?

Next, the Sinis Peninsula near the Mal di ventre Island is protected. That means it’s illegal to post fishing traps in certain areas. When the coast guard came across one such illegal trap, they found a poor octopus inside. They opened up the trap and freed the cephalopod, who was probably grateful to their new human friends.

Saving Baby Seals & Whale Gives Boater A Little Push

The good folks from Ocean Conservation Namibia are always on the lookout for more lives to save. When they decided to get an early start they noticed a young seal who was tangled up in a plastic net. Since you can't just ask a seal to hold still, they had to chase the poor little fella down and catch him in a net. Luckily, they safely cut the net free and returned the seal to the ocean. Next, you know how you'd take a bath as a kid and play with toy boats in the tub? That's probably what it's like to be a whale in the ocean. A paddleboarder was enjoying his time out at sea when he got a gentle little push from a whale right under him! A drone captured this footage, and we have to say, the paddleboarder appeared way calmer than we would have been. View Now

Bravely Filming A Great White & Octopus Cameraman

Would you be brave enough to dive into the ocean and film a great white shark up close? No, right? Well, not only would Jalil Najafov be totally down with that, he actually did it! He went diving in Guadalupe, Mexico, where he got quite the closeup! So close, in fact, that the shark's tail actually hit the camera! We'd be done with the ocean forever after that. On the topic of ocean life, a diver in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, France, brought along two GoPro cameras. It's a good thing he did because someone else wanted to see what it would be like to work as a videographer. That someone was an octopus! Oh sure, this looks like an innocent octopus wanting to play with our human toys, but this is clearly an attempt to learn our technology so that one day they can use it against us! via ViralHog View Now
