We recently told you about Van Bernard, who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and how his family hoped to raise money to get him a wheelchair-accessible van. We are pleased to report that since we last talked to the family, their fundraiser has exceeded the original goal. What's more, Van might get the opportunity to meet his favorite band, The Lumineers, whose song he recently sang at the Walk For Muscular Dystrophy event in Halifax, Novia Scotia. The family said the band's manager saw Van's performance, and was instantly moved. To donate to the Van 4 Van cause, click here.

Doctors said the syndrome has no cure but her family didn't accept that. Through viral videos, campaigns, and crowdfunding, the family has raised more than $2 million toward Sanfilippo syndrome research. Now, we have an amazing update. Eliza is now the first patient in the world to receive a new treatment that's healing her. Eliza and her family joined our RightThisMinute hosts to discuss her miracle and what it was like living in isolation for 726 days prior to the trials. The family is now trying to raise $4 million for their Cure Sanfilippo Foundation. To help even more children like Eliza, you can donate to the "Saving Eliza" GoFundMe page. View Now
