A New Jersey transit police officer pulled a man off the train tracks seconds before the oncoming train sped past.
Officer Victor Ortiz responded to a call about an agitated passenger on a train in Secaucus, New Jersey. The passenger told the officer he didn't want to go to jail, threw himself onto the train tracks, and said he just wanted to die. Ortiz risked his own life to rescue the man from being hit by the oncoming train. Video from NJ Transit shows the officer pull the man off of the tracks just seconds before the train speeds past them. The police officer took the man into custody, gave him some medication, and was able to speak to him. The officer said the man could not believe that he saved him, but Ortiz said he would do it again.
