Alyne Luna was planning a home birth, but authorities didn't let that happen. She lives on an island in Brazil that has no confirmed cases of COVID-19, so she wanted to have a home birth rather than possibly putting her family at risk by going to a hospital in a city. However, on the island that Alyne calls home, there is a policy stating that pregnant women must give birth at the nearest location with a maternity hospital.
