Workers at an asphalt factory in Taiwan put out a call for animal rescue, a call answered by Hsu Wen-Liang. Mr. Hsu was informed that a dog had wandered into the factory and became trapped in asphalt. The dog was near death so Hsu quickly leaped into action. Animal rescuers from the Marine World Foundation in Argentina found nine Magellanic Penguins who were in very poor health. This particular species of penguin are considered endangered, so the foundation got to work right away helping the birds recover. After several months, they were cleared to return to the ocean.
