The Manilla Social Club in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York is offering a very classy $100 doughnut. The doughnut is crafted with flour made from ube a purple yam plant the Philippines. This cruller style doughnut features ube mousse and Cristal champagne jelly and is then dusted with 24 karat gold and decorated with gold leaf. Björn Delacruz was eating an ube doughnut and drinking Cristal champagne when he realised the combination's flavor potential. After posting a photo of a gold doughnut he made on Instagram, he noticed that the pastry had potential.
