A motorboat on the Tapajós River in São Paulo, Brazil was out of control for nearly 50 minutes, spinning in circles with a 3-year-old child still onboard. The boat's driver lost control and was tossed out of the vessel, along with another 5-year-old child, but the younger one remained onboard and held on for dear life. Thirteen people are injured after a wooden pedestrian bridge collapsed in the middle of New Year's Eve celebrations. It happened at Gorky Park in Moscow, Russia on the bridge that runs along the park's ice skating rink. The national anthem was playing on the loudspeakers marking the beginning of 2019 when the accident happened, according to ABC News. The victims will receive compensation for the injuries, and the director of the park has been fired.

Sometimes, nature is just too powerful. A fishing vessel in northern Norwegian waters needed rescuing when it ran aground and began taking on water, endangering the boat and the 14 passengers onboard.
