Once a year in a maximum security women's prison in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a handful of lucky inmates get to compete in a beauty pageant. It's the one chance they get to get all dolled up in hair and makeup and wear pretty clothes again, which is no doubt a great feeling for women who have been locked up. You have to be on your best behavior if you want to earn a spot in the pageant — only 10 inmates are selected to participate. But if you do get chosen, your family is invited to come watch the show. The cement was freshly smoothed out and polished when all of a sudden a rogue child emerged like the Tasmanian Devil, slipped on the wet concrete, then got up and ran off like it was nothing. Women are often perceived as easy targets for thieves, which unfortunately means they have to be extra careful navigating ordinary places like gas stations and cafes. A couple of thieves approached a woman at a gas station in England and attempted to steal her purse and the keys to her car, pulling her to the ground in the process. A grandfather in Anhui Province, China had to be held back by rescue workers so that he wouldn't endanger his own life by rushing into a burning home to save his grandchildren. Firefighters managed to save the two grandsons, one of whom was only three months old, as well as the grandmother. All of them are expected to fully recover. View Now

Pakistani teen Baber Baban Baloch is only 19 years old and he's an incredible roller skater.
