Woman Surprises Retired Teacher With Life-Saving Gift

Teachers and students can have a special relationship that lasts beyond the classroom. Even teachers you've never personally had in school can have an impact! That's especially true in this touching story about a random and very important act of kindness. When teacher Kathy Hubler Young put the word out about retired Cedar Cliff High School teacher George Labecki's urgent need for a new kidney, it got the attention of her former elementary school student Lindsay Arnold Wenrich.
Wenrich felt compelled to help, even though she didn't personally know Mr. Labecki. He was quite a popular teacher at school, and Wenrich remembered him, so she decided to see if she was a match to donate a kidney. She was and decided to surprise Labecki dressed up as a Penn State Nittany Lion (even though she's a die-hard Ohio State University fan!). The surgery is scheduled for Oct. 26, according to Good Morning America. In the meantime, the pair have become instant friends forever.
