She's not letting anything stop her from her passion in life. When Mariam was a talented young artist at 20 years old, she was shot in the back and became paralyzed. The person who injured her has never been caught, and she's now a quadriplegic and affected in both her arms and legs. Still, Mariam learned how to write and paint with her mouth. She tells Elite Daily she found a new purpose in life by creating art in a new and unique way and by not giving up.
